Warehouse logistics and advanced manufacturing are increasingly using robotics as an important part of their automation strategy. Robots can increase operational efficiency, enhance safety, and help companies overcome labor shortages that are occurring worldwide. Developing these intelligent robotic systems, however, is complex, challenging and expensive work. Fortunately, state-of-the-art simulation tools are available to engineers that can speed up the design, development, and test processes.

Gerard Andrews, Senior Robotics Product Marketing Manager at NVIDIA, will cover how to use NVIDIA’s Isaac Sim for robotics development. Lecture at Robotics Summit & Exhibition called “Using Simulation to Design and Develop Autonomous Robots” will take place at the Boston Convention Center on May 11th at 11:30 a.m.

This talk will describe the many ways NVIDIA Isaac Sim can be used to accelerate the development and deployment of robots, including advanced AI and computer vision. In particular, participants will learn how simulations can test robotic applications in a photo-realistic and physically accurate digital twin environment. Additionally, robots can be deployed in increasingly complex simulations involving digital humans and robotic fleets to optimize operational KPIs. This session is designed as an introduction to photo-realistic 3D simulation for robots and is suitable for all levels.

Andrews is focused on revolutionizing the way intelligent robots are developed, trained, tested, and deployed by driving adoption of the NVIDIA Isaac Robotics platform. Prior to joining NVIDIA, he worked at Cadence as Product Marketing Director, responsible for product planning, marketing, and business development for licensed IP processors. He holds an MS in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University.
