Claire chats with Dr Jonathan Aitken of the University of Sheffield about real-world manufacturing, sewer inspection and robotics.
Jonathan Aitken is a Senior University Teacher in Robotics at the University of Sheffield. His research is focused on building useful, usable and extensible architectures for future robotics systems. It recently involved creating complex digital twins for collaborative robots in the process of building and investigating localization for robots operating in sewer pipes. Its teaching focuses on providing students with the tools to bring distributed computing to complex robotic processes.
