Florida State University Plans $20 Million Investment in Quantum Science and Engineering

The university will make this investment over a three-year period. This will include recruiting eight or more new faculty members, and providing specialized equipment and lab space in the university’s Interdisciplinary Research and Commercialization Building. The program will build on previous research funded by the US Department of Energy and related to quantum conducted at the school. These include projects to develop high-performance software, research to develop new qubit platforms, and research related to energy frontiers.
