Robot Talk Episode 47 – Helmut Hauser
Claire chats with Helmut Hauser of the University of Bristol about soft robots, sensing and smart robot bodies.
Helmut Hauser is an Associate Professor in Robotics at the University of Bristol and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. He is also the Director of the EPSRC Doctoral Training Center for Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Helmut’s research is focused on morphological calculations and soft robotics. In particular, he is interested in understanding the basic principles of how biological systems exploit their complex physical bodies to facilitate sensing, control, and learning, and how these principles can be used to design better bodies to build better robots.
