At a recent event to celebrate the Association’s 85th Anniversary, the British Pediatric Nurses Association awarded an Honors Scholarship to eight pediatric nurses in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the nursing care of children and adolescents.

Honorees of 2023
- Ann Bisbrown Lee for pediatric nursing services and for many years of service for the British Pediatric Nurses Association, particularly in leading marketing activities and conferences.
- Professor Steven Campbell for pediatric nurse education services and the British Association of Pediatric Nurses as the first Editor of the Association’s journal, the Journal of Child Health Care.
- Rachel Cooke for child nursing services, particularly in the areas of child palliative care and childhood bereavement services in the UK and overseas.
- Long Norman for pediatric nurse education services and for many years service for the British Association of Pediatric Nurses as a financial officer.
- Professor Bertha Ochieng for child nursing and child health services, especially in the field of community empowerment and involvement of socially disadvantaged communities.
- Dr. Gerry Sefton for pediatric nursing services, particularly in the areas of pediatric intensive care and pediatric nursing research.
- Fiona Smith for pediatric nursing services in the UK and globally, including playing a key role in establishing the European Association of Pediatric Nurses.
- Clinical Associate Professor Michael Tatterton for pediatric nursing services and pediatric nurse education, particularly in the field of palliative care and child community.
