Q.ANT and Institute for Microelectronics Stuttgart Partner to Manufacture Quantum Chips
Q. Ant is a quantum startup based in Stuttgart, Germany that is developing quantum sensors and quantum computing chips based on lithium niobate-based photonic technology at room temperature. IStuttgart Institute of Microelectronics (IMS CHIPS) is a research institute for microelectronics that is part of the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Alliance. These organizations have signed an agreement to co-produce quantum chips. Q.Ant will contribute €14 million ($15.2 million USD) to the partnership in terms of machinery, process technology and production expertise. IMS CHIPS will contribute the existing chip manufacturing infrastructure. Production will initially be small-scale and used for internal Q.Ant needs. But in the long term, parties may also sell chips externally to other organizations. A news release with additional information is available on the Q.Ant website Here.
