Defense Agency Awarded SandboxAQ Contract to Provide Quantum Resistant Cryptographic Solutions

Insider Summary

  • The US Defense Information Systems Agency awarded SandboxAQ a contract to implement an enterprise end-to-end cryptographic management solution.
  • SandboxAQ will partner with Microsoft and Deloitte & Touche LLP on the project.
  • SandboxAQ Security Suite enables agile cryptography to protect sensitive data from current and future cyber attacks.

PRESS RELEASE — SandboxAQ, the enterprise SaaS company that delivers AI and Quantum (AQ) technology to governments and the Global 1000, announced today that it has been awarded a Public Key Infrastructure Quantum Resistant Cryptographic Prototype Other Transaction Authority Agreement by the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). DISA, which provides globally accessible enterprise IT infrastructure in direct support to joint ventures, national-level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners, selected SandboxAQ from a pool of vendors after a three-phase process.

SandboxAQ Security Suite enables agile cryptography to protect sensitive data from both current and future cyber attacks, including the implementation of cryptographic protocols that are resistant to decryption by quantum computers. The suite, developed by a world-class team of cryptographers and software experts, enables cryptographic inventory, policy enforcement, and fixes.

To deliver this program, SandboxAQ chose Microsoft, which will provide the DevSecOps platform, and global systems integrators Deloitte & Touche LLP for their respective software and service capabilities.

Deloitte US has worked with DISA for several years and provides industry-leading services, including extensive cryptography integration and implementation, throughout the federal government.

Microsoft, Gartner’s leader in hybrid technology deployments, has extensive implementation experience in DISA’s on-premise and cloud environments.

“SandboxAQ is proud to bring our enterprise security software to DISA,” said SandboxAQ CEO Jack Hidary. “We are excited to provide capabilities that can help make national defense safer. SandboxAQ and our subcontractors will adopt an approach that is applicable across the US Government.”

SandboxAQ and its subcontractors have been heavily involved in national efforts to prepare US Government IT systems for the quantum future. SandboxAQ and Microsoft were selected in 2022 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence as technology collaborators to provide a migration approach to post-quantum cryptography.

“As part of the prototype OTA agreement, SandboxAQ’s unique focus on cryptographic agility can enable US government customers to automatically and seamlessly protect their IT infrastructure from both current and future cyberthreats such as those posed by quantum computers,” said Jen Sovada. , President of the Global Public Sector at SandboxAQ in connection with the OTA agreement prototype. “This first program of its kind offers a path to protect DISA networks and data through advanced deployments to a broader architecture.”
