Veeco Instruments Inc. today announced it has received an order from Quantum Foundry Copenhagen P/S, based in Copenhagen, Denmark for some GEN20® Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) System. Quantum Foundry is scheduled to receive a multi-process module system next year. The GEN20-Q MBE system, a GEN20 MBE reactor specifically designed for the growth of quantum technologies, was selected to enable the development of fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware to support life science and biological applications.

Veeco’s GEN20-Q MBE system, built on the production-proven GEN20 platform, employs a tailored design to support the research and production of a wide range of quantum computing techniques including superconductive materials, spintronics, high-speed optical modulation, and trapped ions. The system incorporates production design technologies that enable direct scalability to Veeco’s multi-wafer high-volume manufacturing MBE systems. With the sale of several GEN20-Q systems, Veeco is building a network of partners aiming to revolutionize quantum computing technology.
