Quantinuum Reaches a Quantum Volume of 524,288 on their H1-1 Processor

How many has made ongoing efforts to increase the quality level of its qubits and regularly announces new records in achieving the Quantum Volume metric originally defined by IBM. The previous record was 216 or the 65,536 they achieved on their newly announced H2 processor, but now they report that they’ve reached a Quantum Volume size of 219 or 524,288 on the previous generation H1-1 processor. It is the result of the work of Quantinuum engineers to determine the source of the error and then methods to reduce it. The improvements they found will also be made to the H1-2 and H2 Quantinuum processors. Another metric the company reports achieves a two qubit gate error rate of 0.13% which they say is the best in the industry. Companies have committed to increasing their performance for this measure by at least a factor of 10x annually.
