Announcement — Alexandria, Virginia, April 24, 2023 — PSIRCH, on behalf of the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus in partnership with Northrop Grumman, is managing an active search for senior leaders at Quantum, for the position of: Director, Center for Quantum Architecture & Software Developments.

The Center Director, who will be based in the new state-of-the-art quantum center in Alexandria, Virginia, will lead the quantum effort, establish impactful strategy, vision, and research directions for quantum, employ a team of 5+ faculty members, and continue the center’s growth to increase its recognition, attract well-known talent in quantum, and integrate internally and externally across the quantum ecosystem for the Center.

With a view to building on the already successful VTQ quantum program at the Virginia Tech Blacksburg Campus, instituting a world-class quantum program, and developing the Innovation Campus into a premier destination for quantum, the Center Director will become a key figure for the quantum community in perhaps the most important region worldwide for quantum R&D.

Eligible candidates for this endowed chair and tenure designation will become recognized leaders in the field of quantum information theory and/or related fields, and will result in many notable prior research, collaborations, and partnerships across academia, government, and industry.

Exceptional foreign citizen candidates will be considered, with preference, though not a requirement, for US citizens.
