Intrinsic CEO Wendy Tan White is the keynote speaker at the Robotics Summit

Wendy Tan White, CEO of Intrinsic, a robotics and AI software company at Alphabet, will be the keynote speaker Robotics Summit & Exhibition on May 10-11, 2023, in Boston.

Intrinsic aims to unlock the creative and economic potential of industrial robotics for businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers by making industrial robots easier to use and train. Intrinsic becomes the “Other Bet” Alphabet in July 2021.

In December 2022, Intrinsic acquires Open Source Robotics Corporation (OSRC), a non-profit division of the Open Source Robotics Foundation, which is the developer of the Robot Operating System (ROS). When the acquisition was announced, Intrinsic said that long-term support for the global ROS community of developers was key to its mission to democratize access to robotics.

Tan White will give his keynote address, titled “The Future of Open-Source Robotics Development” on the first day of the Summit at 9:30 am.

Prior to becoming CEO at Intrinsic, Tan White was Vice President at X, the moonshot factory, where he coached various teams and leaders on how to map their way to the moon, including Mineral and Tidal sustainability projects.

Prior to joining X, he was a partner at BGF Ventures, a £2.5 billion growth capital fund, and general partner at Entrepreneur First, a global technology talent investor in AI, robotics and biotechnology. Early in his career, Tan White was the CEO and co-founder of Moonfruit, the world’s first Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) website building platform. He also helped launch Zopa.comthe first European peer-to-peer lending site, and egg.comUK’s first internet bank.

Tan White holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering in computer science from Imperial College, a master’s degree in material futures design from Central Saint Martins, and an honorary doctorate from Salford University. In 2016, Queen Elizabeth II awarded Tan White an MBE for her services to technology and business.
